Vacuum Forming

Custom Vacuum Forming of Engineered and Commodity Plastics

Vacuum FormingPENZ has a long history in custom vacuum forming. Our experience and technical proficiencies have allowed us to service a wide range of industries. Vacuum Forming parts offer cost and weight-reduction savings. For example, replacing a fiberglass product with a vacuum formed part will reduce the overall weight by an average of 30 percent and result in a real cost savings.

Vacuum forming tools cost much less than injection-molded tools, and because we build our own patterns and molds in-house, we are able to provide shorter lead times on prototype and production tools, not to mention the added cost savings of our in-house capabilities.

Major industries that have used our products include:

  • Educational
  • Institutional
  • Medical
  • Recreational
  • Security
  • Truck/trailer

Our Vacuum Formers include both shuttle and rotary types for higher-speed production. The machines vary in size up to a 4" x 8" capacity and handle the following materials:
  • ABS (weatherable)
  • Acrylic
  • Conductive ABS/PVC
  • FR
  • HIPS
  • Kydex
  • PETG
  • Polycarbonate
  • Polyethylene
  • Radel®
Custom Vacuum Forming

In-house development of patterns, molds and fixtures allows us to produce and present a vacuum formed prototype to a customer within five to seven business days. Final production tools are generally completed within 14 business days after approval of the prototype. No quantity is too small – or too large. Whether you need a prototype or millions of pieces, your job will be handled by experienced professionals.
